Russian peacekeepers going after Azerbaijani journalists with machine guns VIDEO

13 December 2022 10:50

The attitude of the Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh towards the representatives of the Azerbaijani media is disturbing.

Videos shared on social media platforms show how the peacekeepers, temporarily stationed in some parts of the Karabakh Economic Region, damaged a car belonging to the Report news agency by hitting it with the back of their machine gun and the brutal treatment of the reporters. Armed peacekeepers surrounded the journalists' vehicles and treated the media representatives as if they were criminals.

The Report vehicle is obviously a civilian car, meaning not armoured, just as the journalists are civilians, not carrying any weapons. Yet when it comes to Armenian separatists, the peacekeepers behave like representatives of a humanitarian organizations (at least, this is how they officially represent themselves). When around representatives of the Azerbaijani media, they violate Azerbaijani and international laws, showing thereby their true colours.

One should not be expecting fair treatment of Azerbaijanis by the Russian peacekeepers, regardless of what their mission in this area is.

The main thing is that a protest rally by Azerbaijani activists and members of environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has been going on for about 24 hours now, taking place in Shusha on a road section that is temporarily controlled by Russian peacekeepers. They demand an end to the conduction of environmental terror in the Karabakh economic region.
