Russian strategic bombers conduct prolonged flight over Sea of Japan
Russian strategic bombers Tu-95MS executed a meticulously planned flight over the international waters of the Sea of Japan.
The Russian Ministry of Defence officially announced the operation via its verified Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the statement, the mission lasted over six hours, during which the Tu-95MS bombers were accompanied by fighter escorts, including the advanced Su-30SM and Su-35S aircraft, ensuring protection and operational support throughout the flight.
This sortie forms part of a routine pattern of deployments, with the ministry highlighting that crews of Russia’s long-range aviation regularly conduct flights over neutral waters in key strategic regions such as the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, Black Sea, and Baltic Sea.
The Ministry of Defence emphasized that all operations by the Russian Aerospace Forces strictly adhere to international norms and aviation regulations governing the use of sovereign and international airspace, reflecting Russia’s commitment to lawful military conduct during such strategic missions.
