Servicemen from ten countries taking part in NATO exercises
The Romanian Defence Ministry has announced that Ramstein Legacy 24 (RALY24) - NATO's Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) exercises are being held in Capu Midia Training Range in Constanta, Romania.
Some 1,300 servicemen from Romania, Hungary, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Türkiye, France and the Czech Republic are participating in the exercises. Patriot and Hawk air defence systems, F-16, IAR-330, IAR-99, YAK-52 and others are used in the exercises, TASS reports citing the ministry.
“RALY24 contributes to increasing the level of interaction among IAMD units, [participants] are using tactics, techniques and procedures as part of a defensive operation,” the message said.
During the exercises, Romania will complete bringing the second Patriot system into combat readiness, which will be certified based on the results of real firing at the training ground.
The servicemen are planned to be deployed in the zone of exercises in Romania on June 3-9, while tactical exercises with shooting are scheduled for June 10-14.
The servicemen will return to their permanent deployment points on June 14-16. The Ramstein Legacy 24 exercises are being held in Romania and Bulgaria, the ministry said.
