Short film on prisoners of First Karabakh War presented in New York VIDEO
The presentation ceremony of the short film "The Breath" dedicated to the prisoners of the First Karabakh War took place at the famous New York cinema "Village East" The film is directed by Azerbaijani Elmar Bayramov, who currently lives in the United States.
The ceremony was held with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the members of the Azerbaijani community. The participants of the ceremony honoured the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide and martyrs of the war with a minute of silence, according to Caliber.Az.
Speaking at the event, Elshad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, congratulated director Elmar Bayramov and the creative team and stressed the importance of the film's message. He thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the members of the Azerbaijani community.
After the presentation ceremony, the director of the film, Elmar Bayramov answered the questions from the audience. The director said that he spoke with more than 20 people who were released after being taken hostage. The screenplay of the film "The Breath" is based on a true story.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition dedicated to the Khojaly genocide was demonstrated.
The participants of the event were given booklets about the Khojaly genocide prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
