SOCAR: Azerbaijan transports 16 bcm of gas via TANAP
First Vice-President of the Azerbaijani state-owned oil company SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusifzade has said that 16 billion cubic meters (bcm) of Azerbaijani natural gas have been transported through the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) up till now.
“From the beginning of the transportation until May 1 this year, 11.3 bcm of Azerbaijani natural gas was pumped through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP),” Yusifzade made these remarks, while addressing the Baku Energy Week forum on June 3, according to Report.
Yusifzade specified that 9.7 bcm of these volumes were transported to Italy, 1.3 bcm - to Greece and 0.3 bcm - to Bulgaria.
Natural gas produced from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field is transported to Türkiye. The Azerbaijani gas is supplied to the Turkish market through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and TANAP pipelines. The first time, gas through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline entered the Turkish market in 2007. Commercial gas supplies to Türkiye through TANAP began on June 30, 2018.
As part of the Southern Gas Corridor project, Azerbaijani "blue fuel" is supplied to the Turkish market through TANAP, and to the European market through TAP.
