Azerbaijan’s SOFAZ targets new investment opportunities in Italy PHOTO
The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) has said its investments in Italy total around $3 billion, as it explores further opportunities to expand its global portfolio.
SOFAZ Executive Director Israfil Mammadov made the remarks during a panel discussion at the FII Priority Europe forum in Rome, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He said Italy currently ranks fourth in SOFAZ’s global investment portfolio by volume, underscoring the country’s importance within the fund’s international strategy.
Mammadov noted that global investment capital remains substantial, adding that the key objective is to allocate resources efficiently into high-quality projects that meet institutional standards.
During his visit to Rome, Mammadov also held meetings with representatives of government bodies, private sector institutions and sovereign wealth funds, focusing on potential investment cooperation and future partnerships.
