Azerbaijan’s chemical output tops $1.3B in 2025, official says
Azerbaijan produced more than $1.3 billion worth of chemical industry products in 2025, said Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO).
Delivering a speech at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group held in Baku, he said the chemical and petrochemical industries remain among the leading sectors of Azerbaijan’s economy, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to him, the chemical and pharmaceutical products included rubber and plastic goods.
“The combined value of the project portfolio of residents of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park is approximately $3.5 billion. This sector offers strong investment potential due to local hydrocarbon resources, modern infrastructure, and established export channels,” he noted.
Abdullayev added that key investment areas comprise specialised and construction chemicals, pharmaceuticals, plastic processing, packaging materials, sealants, and sustainable chemical solutions.
