Azerbaijan, UAE deepen cooperation on strategic infrastructure financing

Azerbaijan and the UAE discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in the financing of strategic infrastructure projects.

According to the Ministry of Finance, first Deputy Finance Minister Anar Karimov and a delegation from First Abu Dhabi Bank discussed the current state and prospects of economic and financial cooperation, the expansion of investment resources, the financing of infrastructure projects, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the fields of sustainable development, green finance, digital transformation, and capital markets, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Karimov emphasized that relations between the two countries have been developing dynamically in recent years, noting that the United Arab Emirates is one of Azerbaijan's key strategic partners in the Gulf region. He stated that Baku attaches particular importance to cooperation with international financial institutions, stressing that such cooperation is not limited to attracting financial resources but also serves to integrate advanced international experience and innovative financial solutions into the country.

For his part, Managing Director Fawaz Abusneineh expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in strategic infrastructure projects, sustainable finance, capital markets, and innovative financial solutions.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, the facilitation of international financial and investment flows, and the prospects for further expanding financial cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Gulf region.
