SOCAR completes drilling project in Kazakhstan
SOCAR AQŞ, a joint venture of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR with local Absheron Drilling Company, has completed the next drilling project in Kazakhstan.
The project was implemented for the Kazakh exploration company Evrika Oleum, Trend reports, citing the company’s statement.
As part of the SOCAR AQŞ project, the company provided supervision services for drilling at three Eureka Oleum oil fields. The services included supervising the drilling of directional oil wells at depths of 3,176, 3,222, and 3,600 metres.
SOCAR AQŞ assisted the Kazakh company with regular operations supervision, health, safety and environmental support, well management, data collection using severe logging tools, and other well-related issues during operations.
SOCAR AQŞ implemented the first drilling project in Kazakhstan in 2020. The contract was to supervise the drilling of a 3,100-metres deep directional oil well at one of the Eureka Oleum fields. In 2021, SOCAR AQŞ continued to manage two more oil wells with a depth of 3,309 and 3,241 metres.
