SOCAR's long-term policy aimed at reducing hydrocarbon emissions
A senior official from the Azerbaijani state-owned energy concern SOCAR has said that the latter's long-term policy is aimed at reducing hydrocarbon emissions.
SOCAR Vice-President for Human Resources, Information Technologies and Regulations Khalik Mammadov made the statement at the 27th Energy Forum in Baku on June 2, Trend reports.
"Serious steps are being taken in Azerbaijan on energy transformation... As a result of the use of advanced technologies, CO2 emissions have already been halved. However, the transition to zero emissions requires a more diligent approach," he said.
Mammadov noted that SOCAR pays great attention to the development of human capital in order to achieve the sustainable development goals.
"The policy of personnel training has always been at the centre of our attention. We carry out multi-sided training programs. 1,404 students were able to get an education as part of our scholarship program, and 339 Azerbaijanis studied abroad at the expense of SOCAR," he added.
