Spain: Most EU countries back joint arms purchases for Ukraine

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares Bueno has said that the majority of representatives of the EU member states supported Estonia's proposal on joint purchases of weapons and ammunition for Ukraine.

"Not everyone spoke out, but there was a majority (who supported the initiative). But, of course, no one has expressed their rejection (of the idea)," Gazeta.Ru reports, citing him.

The minister noted that after the political debates held on February 20, the next step is to bring this initiative to the discussion of the defence ministers of the EU member states.
