Steinmeier says his Baku visit is opportunity for dialogue on Azerbaijani-German ties
The visit to Azerbaijan is a great opportunity to discuss Azerbaijani-German bilateral relations and the peace process in the South Caucasus, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has said.
He made the remarks during a meeting with President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as part of the delegations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Steinmeier reminded that his last visit to Azerbaijan was nine years ago when he held the position of Foreign Minister of Germany.
"Since then, there have been significant geopolitical changes, as if an entire era has passed. I am happy to return to Baku; this is a great opportunity to have a broad exchange of views, particularly on the development of bilateral relations and the peace process with Armenia," said the politician.
