Presidential aide: Azerbaijan, Pakistan can deepen economic cooperation
Azerbaijan and Pakistan possess significant potential to further strengthen their trade and economic relations, Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Presidential Aide, has said in an interview with Pakistan TV.
According to Hajiyev, realising this potential will require stronger engagement between the business communities of both countries, greater awareness of investment opportunities and broader cooperation between the private sectors, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Hajiyev described relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan as a strategic partnership built on mutual trust and unwavering support.
He also praised the strong understanding between the leaderships of the two countries, noting that bilateral cooperation continues to expand across various sectors.
"At the political and geostrategic levels, relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan are excellent," the Azerbaijani presidential aide stressed.
Hajiyev welcomed the growing number of tourist visits between citizens of the two countries, made possible by the expansion of direct air links. He also underlined the importance of further developing cultural ties and people-to-people contacts.
Addressing cooperation in the media sphere, Hajiyev noted the active participation of Pakistani journalists in the Shusha Global Media Forum since its inception.
He recalled that Azerbaijan launched the forum to restore Shusha's historical role as a centre of intellectual and cultural dialogue, while also establishing an international platform for discussing contemporary media challenges, including disinformation, artificial intelligence and strategic communications.
Hajiyev also expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between Pakistani and Azerbaijani media organisations, noting that increased exchanges would contribute to further strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two brotherly nations.
In addition, the Azerbaijani presidential aide highly praised Pakistan's mediating role during the recent tensions in the Middle East.
According to Hajiyev, Islamabad demonstrated strategic wisdom and responsible leadership by supporting efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting dialogue. He noted that Pakistan's leadership had made considerable efforts to advance peace in the region at a critical moment, helping create conditions for de-escalation.
"Pakistan's leadership is dedicating its precious time and efforts to the cause of peace," Hajiyev added.
He said Pakistan's constructive role had highlighted Islamabad's growing geostrategic importance in global affairs and reflected the country's commitment to regional and international stability.
