Swedish Football Federation fined after Armenian provocation in match against Azerbaijan
UEFA [Union of European Football Associations] has fined the Swedish Football Federation (FFSH).
The reason for this was an attempt by local Armenian fans to stage a provocation in the Swedish national team's home match against the Azerbaijani team during the Euro 2024 qualifying stage, Report informs.
During the game at the Friends Arena stadium, Armenians in Sweden attempted to lift the "rag" of the former separatist entity established by Armenia on Azerbaijani territory during the occupation of our lands. However, local police intervened immediately and removed the perpetrators from the stands.
After the investigation, UEFA fined the football federation 5,000 euros for political messages of a provocative nature.
The game ended with a 5:0 victory for the home team.
