Syrian authorities conduct sweeping security operation in Homs

The Syrian Interior Ministry, in collaboration with the Military Operations Directorate, has launched a comprehensive security operation in the central city of Homs.

The campaign aims to apprehend war criminals, individuals involved in crimes, and those refusing to surrender weapons or engage in reconciliation efforts, Caliber.Az report via foreign media.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that residents in the Wadi al-Dahab and Akrama neighbourhoods were advised to remain indoors and avoid public areas. A security official stated, The Interior Ministry urges residents to cooperate fully with security forces and stay in their homes until the operation is complete or movement is permitted.

The operation focuses on locating war criminals, fugitives, and hidden stockpiles of weapons and ammunition. Officials stressed that the sweep is critical for maintaining public safety and ensuring justice in the region.

This effort follows a similar large-scale campaign initiated last week in the Damascus suburbs, including Qudsaya, Al-Hama, Jabal al-Ward, and Hay al-Wurood. That operation targeted illegal weapons, disruptive elements, and sought to prevent recurring security breaches.

Syrian authorities have intensified their efforts to restore order and address security threats across the country, with ongoing operations highlighting the government's focus on eliminating lawlessness and promoting stability.
