Syrian president expresses confidence in Russia's victory in Ukraine

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has expressed confidence that Russia will win the war with Ukraine and will once again unite the fraternal peoples.

“Everyone knows that Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians have common history, language and culture, and mainly Russians live in eastern Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian Nazis have a specific goal,” the Syrian leader said in an interview with the “Global Majority” show on Russia’s Channel One, TASS reports.

“I’m sure that the confrontation will end with Russia’s victory and it will once again unite the fraternal peoples,” he added.

President al-Assad stressed that Russia is currently “correcting what others have done”.

He added that the Russian special operation in Ukraine will correct the course of history - “it will not replace it or rewrite it, but correct it”.

“Russia, as a powerful country, resists Western interference in the internal affairs of other countries. For me, it makes no difference where Russia fights against global terror, in Syria or in Ukraine. There is one enemy. Russia strengthens world stability in the political and military aspects because it suffered,” the Syrian president added.
