Tabriz airport reopens after war damage
Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation has announced that Tabriz International Airport has reopened after sustaining damage during the recent 12-day war, according to DW. Flight operations are set to resume on Wednesday, May 27.
The airport was hit during the fighting, with both the runway and the control tower affected. Authorities confirmed that all necessary repair and restoration work has now been completed, and the airport is fully ready to return to service.
Located in northwestern Iran, Tabriz International Airport is considered one of the country’s most important aviation hubs and ranks among its busiest. Prior to the conflict, the airport handled multiple domestic and international routes, including flights to Istanbul, Najaf, Baku, and Dubai.
