Taliban: Afghanistan should become hub for development of Central Asia, South Asia
Acting Afghan Foreign Minister under the Taliban government Amir Khan Muttaqi has said that the Taliban government guarantees that Afghanistan’s territory will not be used by terrorist organisations.
"Afghanistan will not be a source of destabilisation in the region, as the leadership guarantees that the territory of the country will not be used by Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organisations," Interfax reports referring to Muttaqi’s statement made at an international conference in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city.
The acting foreign minister noted that Afghanistan's further goal is to establish diplomatic relations with all countries on the basis of mutual respect.
Muttaqi emphasised that the country mainly focuses on "economic development, as well as the transformation of Afghanistan into a hub for the development of Central Asia and South Asia".
The delegations from more than 20 countries, including the Taliban delegation, are taking part in the international conference "Afghanistan: security and economic development" in Tashkent.
