Taliban present Afghanistan's "equivalent to Bugatti” supercar VIDEO/PHOTO
Afghan engineers have released a prototype of the country’s first supercar, called the Mada 9, which could put the country on the map for different reasons than usual.
As reported by the television channel ToloNews, the spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, published a video of the car on his social media page and stated that Mada 9 was a pride for his country and thanked all who had worked on it.
The CEO of the manufacturer ENTOP, Muhammad Raza Ahmadi, claims that the Mada 9 has been under development for five years at the Nauvari Center of Technical and Vocational Education of Afghanistan with funding and assistance from the Afghan IT Ministry and the Innovation Center of Afghanistan. The prototype’s tubular frame chassis and F1-inspired pushrod suspension keep weight down. He also pointed to his desire to improve the image of Afghanistan in the international arena by this development.
While the specifications of the Mada 9 are not yet known, some reports indicate that the supercar has a modified powertrain from the Toyota Corolla, which is adapted to heavy loads. An electric version is planned for the future.
Referred to as “the country’s equivalent to the Bugatti”, Greek Reporter wrote that the prototype has been developed with the hilly terrains of Afghanistan in mind and will be rigorously tested before eventually being put into production.
The manufacturer plans to offer the supercar on the local market, but exports of some vehicles is also a possibility.
