Tehran: Iran's missile and drone stockpiles could sustain years of war
Iran’s stockpiles of missiles and drones are sufficient for several years of war, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, deputy head of the parliamentary national security committee, has stated, noting that Tehran will not leave Donald Trump in peace.
Boroujerdi said Iran entered talks with the United States on the orders of the Supreme Leader and stressed that parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf was leading the negotiations with “valuable experience,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.
“The negotiating table is not a place of compromise and humiliation,” Boroujerdi emphasised, adding that he hoped the process would yield “a good outcome.”
Last week, sources familiar with the matter told Iran International that Ghalibaf stepped down as head of the Iranian delegation in talks with the United States due to internal disagreements.
Boroujerdi dismissed threats from Trump as empty and said a two-week ceasefire had been extended without any move by the other side.
“But Trump should know that we will not let him go. Our fighters are present on the battlefield, and the struggle and war will certainly continue until the Zionist regime and criminal America are truly punished,” he said.
He also described a US maritime blockade as ineffective and lacking international legitimacy, saying no European or NATO country had joined Washington in the effort.
Boroujerdi said tensions in the Strait of Hormuz were the result of what he called an “imposed war,” adding that Trump knows Iran will “never lose control” over the strategic waterway.
