Tel Aviv, Washington discuss Israel's military response to Hezbollah rocket attacks

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Galant has held a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.

Galant informed Austin about the Israel Defense Forces' operation against the Shiite Hezbollah movement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.

“We launched precision strikes in Lebanon to prevent an imminent threat to the citizens of Israel. We are closely following the developments in Beirut and are determined to use all means at our disposal to protect our citizens,” Galant said.

The Times of Israel reported earlier that 320 rockets were fired from Lebanon toward Israel on August 25.

“Hezbollah posted a statement on its Telegram channel after the rocket attack on Israel about the “initial response” to the assassination of its military wing commander Fuad Shukkur in Beirut.”
