Ten countries condemn Israel’s actions against Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla
Foreign ministers from Tükiye, Spain, Pakistan, Jordan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Colombia, Libya and the Maldives have jointly condemned Israel’s actions against the Global Sumud Flotilla in a coordinated statement.
The foreign ministers called for the immediate release of all detained activists and urged concrete steps to “end Israel’s impunity,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The statement said the interception of the vessel constitutes a “clear violation of international law”, expressing serious concern over the safety and well-being of civilians aboard the flotilla.
It emphasised that repeated attacks on peaceful humanitarian initiatives reflect a continuing disregard for international law and freedom of navigation.
The ministers called on the international community to fulfil its legal and moral obligations, ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian missions, and take concrete measures to end impunity and ensure accountability for such violations.
“We, the foreign ministers of the Republic of Türkiye, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Colombia, the State of Libya, the Republic of Maldives, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, strongly condemn the repeated attacks by Israel on the Global ‘Sumud’ Flotilla, a peaceful civilian humanitarian initiative aimed at drawing international attention to the humanitarian catastrophe faced by the Palestinian people,” the statement reads.
