Caliber.Az is pleased to present this video to its audience.
Note that, Aghali village in Azerbaijan's Zangilan district stands as a testament to the nation's resilience and commitment to revitalizing its liberated territories. Following the 2020 Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan initiated the Great Return program, facilitating the repopulation of areas previously under occupation. Aghali was among the first to benefit from this initiative.
On July 19, 2022, the first group of internally displaced persons (IDPs) returned to Aghali, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the village. Since then, over 1,000 individuals from approximately 200 families have resettled in the area . The village has been transformed into a "smart village," integrating modern infrastructure and sustainable technologies.
Key developments in Aghali include the construction of 150 residential buildings, a school, a kindergarten, a medical centre, and a hydroelectric power plant. Additionally, facilities such as the ASAN Service centre, DOST centre, and the Centre for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises have been established to provide essential services to residents.
The Great Return program aims to resettle 34,500 families, or approximately 140,000 people, in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions by 2026. Aghali's transformation exemplifies Azerbaijan's dedication to restoring its territorial integrity and ensuring a prosperous future for its citizens.
