As we reported earlier, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC will start construction of a new railroad line from Aghdam to Khankendi in 2024.
Tural Abbasli, head of the Construction Projects Department of the CJSC, said that the design of this road has started, a primary inspection of the territory has already been carried out and a preliminary route of the road has been planned.
"This project aims to connect Khankendi and Shusha with the railway network of the republic, to allow efficient passenger and cargo transportation in this direction, which will help to fully restore the territories liberated from years of occupation," Abbasli emphasized.
Besides, the CJSC presented a video clip dedicated to the new road Aghdam - Khankendi. It shows that there will be 4 stations on the road with a total length of 27 kilometres - Aghdam - Askeran - Khojaly - Khankendi.
Recall that the railway line Yevlakh - Aghdam is being completed, it is planned to be put into operation by the end of 2024.
