Time magazine revises Trump cover following president’s criticism
Time magazine has revised the cover of one of its recent issues featuring US President Donald Trump, following criticism from the White House. The new cover now depicts Trump full-face, replacing the previous image in which he was shown looking upward against a sky background beneath the caption “His Triumph”.
Trump has not yet commented on the updated cover. Earlier, he criticized the original image, calling it “the worst photograph in history,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
The design of the original cover drew inspiration from one of the most iconic and psychologically charged portraits of the 20th century: Arnold Newman’s 1963 photograph of Alfred Krupp, the German industrialist and convicted Nazi war criminal. Newsweek has previously described Newman’s portrait as one of the most compelling images ever created for a weekly news magazine.
The Time issue also included three front-page articles addressing the ongoing conflict in Gaza, titled “His Triumph,” “The Leader Israel Needed,” and “How Gaza Heals.”
Separately, President Trump signed a peace agreement for the Gaza Strip in Sharm el-Sheikh, calling it “historic” and asserting that it would help prevent World War III.
