Top Azerbaijani, Macedonian officials hold talks on enhancing security cooperation in Baku
Azerbaijani Interior Minister, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov has welcomed his counterpart from the Republic of North Macedonia Panche Toshkovski in Baku, providing a detailed overview of the ministry’s functions, responsibilities and the current security situation in Azerbaijan.
During the official visit, Toshkovski and his delegation paid tribute to Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev by visiting the Alley of Honour, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
They also revered the memory of Azerbaijani martyrs who died in the struggle for independence and territorial integrity at the Alley of Martyrs, where they laid a wreath at the "Eternal Flame" memorial.
Moreover, Eyvazov discussed efforts in protecting human rights, addressing citizen satisfaction, and tackling transnational organised crimes, including drug trafficking, international terrorism, human trafficking, illegal migration, and cybercrime. He underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing these challenges effectively.
The two ministers engaged in discussions about potential areas for collaboration, especially in the field of cybercrime prevention, sharing experience and strengthening public order. Toshkovski expressed North Macedonia’s strong interest in expanding its cooperation with Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry, particularly through the exchange of best practices in crime prevention and law enforcement.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured several key institutions, including the N military unit of the internal troops, the Intelligent Transport Management Centre, and the "102" and "Safe City" services, gaining insight into Azerbaijan’s law enforcement capabilities and modern security technologies.
