Tourist influx to Azerbaijan doubles in April

The tourist influx to Azerbaijan rose by 84 percent in April compared to the same month last year, i.e. 84,000 foreigners traveled to the country lost month.

According to January-April 2022 data published by the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency, 330,679 foreign citizens arrived in the country during the first four months of this year, which is 103 percent more than in the same period last year (162,991), Trend reports.

The largest number of inbound tourists in April were from Turkiye (27,100), which was followed by Russia (19,100), Iran (13,300), Georgia (5,800), Ukraine (2,000), Kazakhstan (1,800), Pakistan (1,400), Israel (1,300), Great Britain (1,200), and Germany (1,000).

According to the agency, in April 2022, the number of visitors to Azerbaijan from Germany increased by 3.4 times and from the UK by 2.45 times compared to the same month in 2021.
