Trilateral parliamentary talks on horizon for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has announced that a trilateral meeting of the speakers of the Azerbaijani, Georgian and Turkish parliaments is expected soon.
Papuashvili made these remarks during his visit to Türkiye at a joint press briefing with President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The Georgian parliament speaker expressed gratitude to his Turkish counterpart for leading the revival of this important parliamentary cooperation.
He noted that the meeting, initially planned for 2023, had been postponed due to the devastating earthquake that struck Türkiye last year. However, he confirmed that the parliaments of all three countries are now prepared to move forward with this important dialogue.
“The first meeting will be held in Türkiye. Once again, I thank the president of the Turkish Grand National Assembly for this initiative,” Papuashvili emphasised.
