Baku, Bratislava discuss strengthening parliamentary ties PHOTO

Baku and Bratislava have held talks on enhancing bilateral parliamentary relations.

The discussions took place between Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament), and the Slovakia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Elchin Gasimov, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Officials highlighted the strong momentum in relations between the two countries. They noted that the signing of the “Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership” during Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico’s visit had elevated bilateral cooperation to a new level.

The parties welcomed the frequency of reciprocal visits, which have contributed to closer collaboration.

They also stressed the importance of developing parliamentary ties and identified significant potential for further expansion.

Discussions included prospects for cooperation across all parliamentary areas, including the work of committees.
