Azerbaijan, Iran strengthen ties during high-level foreign ministry meeting
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Vahid Jalalzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during the latter’s official visit to Azerbaijan on 24 November.
The meeting focused on both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional issues of mutual concern. Officials highlighted the importance of political dialogue, interparliamentary relations, and direct contacts between the leaders of both countries in strengthening friendly relations. The two visits earlier this year by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Azerbaijan were noted as having given additional momentum to bilateral ties, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The ministers discussed prospects for cooperation in political, economic, trade, energy security, transport, and communications sectors. Several joint projects, particularly those related to transport corridors passing through the region, were emphasised as key to regional connectivity.
The meeting also included exchanges on other matters of mutual interest, reinforcing the commitment of both countries to deepen strategic cooperation.
