Baku becomes hub for regional energy dialogue at SPE conference
The Caspian Technical Conference SPE — one of the region’s key industry events that traditionally brings together experts, government representatives, and technological innovators from across the Caspian basin — will take place in Baku from November 25 to 27.
As reported by domestic media, this year’s conference is supported by the host organisation SOCAR and held under the theme “Learning from the Past, Rejuvenating Today, Inspiring Tomorrow.”
Participants will engage in discussions on digitalisation, the introduction of artificial intelligence, increasing the efficiency of mature fields, as well as issues of safety and sustainable supply — the core areas shaping the development of regional energy.
The program includes an opening ceremony, the presentation of SPE regional awards, two high-level plenary sessions, and more than twenty thematic sections featuring both practical case studies and analytical reports.
Among the speakers are representatives of major international companies and academic institutions.
A technology exhibition will run in parallel, where companies will showcase new tools, engineering solutions, and innovations shaping the future of the industry. Special attention is given to young professionals: “The Student Summit will give emerging specialists the opportunity to find mentors, exchange ideas, and gain insight into the dynamics of modern energy,” organisers noted.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers is an international organisation uniting 132,000 professionals from 146 countries. SPE develops professional standards, creates educational programs, supports industry communities, and serves as a platform for knowledge exchange. SPE maintains offices in Calgary, Dallas, Dubai, Houston, and Kuala Lumpur.
