Trump invites Kazakh president to Gaza Peace Council
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received an official invitation from former US President Donald Trump to join the newly established Gaza Peace Council. Kazakhstan was offered a role as one of the founding countries.
Presidential press secretary Ruslan Zheldibay confirmed that Tokayev has accepted the invitation, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
The “Peace Council,” formally known as the Board of Peace, is a central part of Trump’s Gaza peace plan, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 in late 2025. It is intended as a transitional international governing and oversight body for Gaza following the two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The exact structure of the board, which will also manage Gaza’s reconstruction, remains unclear, and member invitations are still being extended. Argentina, Hungary, Türkiye, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and Italy have confirmed participation, while France, Germany, and the UAE have yet to respond.
A separate “founding Executive Board,” which includes Jared Kushner and Tony Blair, will focus on high-level investment and diplomatic matters. Invitations to join the initiative have been sent to several countries.
