Turkic parliament committee chairmen tour Khankendi & Shusha in Azerbaijan
On April 26, the chairmen of parliamentary committees from Turkic states visiting Azerbaijan arrived in Khankendi, as reported by APA news agency, citing the Press and Public Relations Department of Milli Majlis.
The guests toured the city to acquaint themselves with its surroundings.
Subsequently, the delegation visited Shusha, where they explored the Central Square, Yukhari Govhar-aga Mosque, fortress walls, and Khan Gizi Spring. They received detailed briefings on the city's history, its occupation, ongoing construction projects led by President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, restoration efforts of historical monuments, and development plans.
The delegation also visited Jidir Duzu, where they honored the bravery of Azerbaijani warriors who liberated Shusha at great personal sacrifice. Today, the Jidir-Duzu plain serves as a venue for significant events, reclaiming its historical importance. Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties of Milli Majlis, along with several MPs and officials, accompanied the guests on the trip.
