Turkish company to build ammunition plant in Estonia
A company with Turkish capital, ARCA Baltics Operations, will build a factory in Estonia to produce 155mm artillery ammunition, with an estimated cost of around €300 million in the Põhja-Kiviõli defence industrial park.
Production is scheduled to begin in 2028, Caliber.Az reports, citing ERR.
The facility is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs and will manufacture 155mm artillery shells (including long-range versions), mortar ammunition of various calibres, and 122mm rockets.
The company plans to invest approximately €300 million of its own funds in building the production infrastructure, including equipment and storage facilities.
Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur said the state will also have the option to purchase products from the future plant for the needs of the armed forces.
ARCA Baltics Operations is linked to the Turkish defence group ARCA Defence, whose exports exceeded €3 billion last year.
The group operates nine companies and is active not only in the defence sector but also in aerospace, energy, and construction industries.
