Turkish defence companies increase export volumes PHOTO
Companies of the military-industrial complex of Türkiye are actively increasing the supply of products abroad.
The country is step by step approaching the goal of becoming one of the top ten arms manufacturers in the world.
In 2021, the volume of deliveries of Turkish defence products abroad increased, by 41 per cent compared to a year earlier - up to $3 billion 212 million. For 2022, the goal of exports of more than $4 billion has been announced, according to Anadolu Agency.
One of the most rapidly developing areas of the Turkish defence industry today is the production of ground armored vehicles and patrol boats.
There are many defence enterprises in the TOP 1000 Fastest-Growing Exporting Companies of Türkiye in 2021, prepared by the Turkish Exporters Union.
In particular, Nurol Makina, a manufacturer of armoured vehicles such as: Ejder Yalçın, Yörük 4x4 and Ejder TOMA, ranked 5th in the ranking. If in 2020 Nurol Makina exported defence products worth $22.5 million, then in 2021 this figure increased by 141 per cent to $54.3 million.
The Yonca-Onuk shipyard, which provides high-speed patrol boats not only to Türkiye, but also to friendly and allied countries, ranked 18th in the rating. Yonca-Onuk shipyard export deliveries totalled $22 million in 2020 and rose 93.5 per cent to $42.5 million last year.
According to the Union of Exporters, Baykar became the leader in exports of the Turkish defence and aviation industry in 2021. The manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles exported products worth $638.9 million in 2021.
Baykar is followed by Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii AŞ (TUSAŞ) with exports of $345.5 million.
