Joint "Elephant Walk" demonstration highlights unity at Anatolian Phoenix-2025 drills in Türkiye VIDEO

20 May 2025 17:39

The multinational military exercise Anatolian Phoenix-2025 is ongoing in Türkiye, demonstrating robust international cooperation in search-and-rescue and humanitarian operations.

As reported by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence on its official X (formerly Twitter) page, one of the major highlights of the drills — an "Elephant Walk" — was recently conducted at the 3rd Main Jet Base in Konya, per Caliber.Az.

The manoeuvre featured aircraft taxiing in close formation, symbolising operational readiness and joint capability.

The exercise began on May 12 and will continue through May 23. Organised by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, Anatolian Phoenix-2025 brings together military personnel and air assets from ten countries: Türkiye, Azerbaijan, the United States, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Qatar, Romania, Slovakia, and Saudi Arabia.

The primary aim of the exercise is to simulate complex combat search-and-rescue (CSAR) operations under diverse and demanding conditions, promoting interoperability among allied and partner nations. The drills also serve as a platform for the participating forces to enhance tactical coordination, share operational experience, and strengthen diplomatic and military relations.

Azerbaijan is taking part with a contingent from the Air Force, including Su-25 attack aircraft, pilots, and technical crew. The Azerbaijani team has been stationed in Konya since May 8 and is actively engaged in the exercise alongside its international counterparts.
