Turkish intelligence “neutralizes” terror group PKK ringleader in Syria PHOTO
The Turkish National Intelligence Agency "neutralized" Yayla Kizilkaya, a leader of the PKK/PAJK terrorist group, in a targeted operation in the Qamishli region of Syria, security sources said.
Kizilkaya, also known by her alias Nesrin Amed, joined the PKK's rural ranks at the age of 14 and was placed on Türkiye's wanted list due to her involvement in armed terrorist activities across Türkiye, Iraq, and Syria, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
She had been under extensive surveillance by Turkish intelligence, the sources revealed.
The term "neutralize" used by Turkish authorities refers to the terrorists being either killed, captured, or surrendering.
The PKK has long used northern Iraq, near the Turkish border, as a base to plan attacks against Türkiye.
In its 40-year-long campaign of terror against Türkiye, the PKK—designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU—has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 individuals, including women, children, infants, and the elderly.
