The platform is integrated with the remotely operated TRAKON LITE (Naval) weapon system and equipped with the CANiK M2 QCB heavy machine gun developed by UNIROBOTICS, a company within the Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS Group).
Türkiye’s defence-industry effort SALVO, built by Dearsan Shipyard in collaboration with domestic companies, was first revealed publicly in 2022 and completed live-firing trials that same year.
The platform forms part of a broader push by the Turkish Naval Forces to exploit unmanned surface vessel (USV) technology, with multiple systems already ordered or deployed and new variants under development for tasks ranging from surveillance to strike operations.
With its induction under hull number TCB 1401, SALVO represents a tangible step in Türkiye’s transition toward more autonomous naval platforms capable of extending operational reach and reducing risk to personnel.
