Turkish payment company to enter Azerbaijani market

02 August 2022 09:40

The Turkish payment company PG PARA plans to enter the Azerbaijani market.

PG PARA CEO Mohammed Dirgham Shemso made the remarks in an interview with Trend.

According to him, the company is mainly focused on money transfers and the provision of services in the field of e-commerce.

"To date, we have established cooperation with more than 60 countries and provide over 4,000 financial services. We also have e-commerce services. In cooperation with our Azerbaijani colleagues, we plan to create opportunities for the purchase of Turkish goods by using our payment system," Shemso said.

The CEO also said that PG PARA plans to establish cooperation with almost all banks in Azerbaijan.

"We are preparing an appropriate strategy for the operation of our payment system in the Azerbaijani market. The main priority here is to provide services at the lowest cost," Shemso said.

He said that a meeting was held with representatives of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan on the issue of entering the Azerbaijani market.

"We held a meeting with representatives of the regulator, as we will provide services on the basis of local banks. So far, I cannot name the banks with which we plan to work in Azerbaijan at the first stage. It is expected that an agreement between all parties will be reached in the next two to three months," Shemso said.

The CEO noted that PG PARA plans to open its representative office in Azerbaijan.
