Turkish President Erdogan to announce discovery of new oil fields in Shirnak district

Turkish President Erdogan is to soon announce the discovery of oil fields in the Shirnak district, which reserves are estimated to be worth approx. $250 billion.

This was reported by the Turkish Sabah newspaper's columnist Yavuz Donat, who wrote in his article that the announcement will come in the following days. According to his sources, new wells are being drilled in the southeastern Anatolia Region of Shirnak, close to the Syrian and Iranian border.

The potential volume of oil discovered in the area that leads to nearby Mount Gabar is estimated to have a capability of 5,000 barrels a day with a possibility of reaching even 20,000.
