Turkish president off to Prague for European Political Community summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has left for Prague to attend the European Political Community summit.
During the visit, the head of state is accompanied by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, head of the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altun and Presidential Press Secretary Ibrahim Kalin, Anadolu Agency reports.
The forum brings together the heads of 27 EU members and 17 partner states.
The official opening ceremony of the summit will take place in Prague Castle, after which the leaders will gather in session to discuss issues of peace and security, energy, climate change, and the economy.
The programme of the Turkish leader's visit to the Czech Republic includes bilateral meetings, including with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Erdogan and Pashinyan will discuss the process of normalizing relations between Türkiye and Armenia, as well as peace talks between Baku and Yerevan.
Further, the Turkish leader will take part in the final session of the summit, which will be held at dinner, after which he will depart from Prague.
