Türkiye donates aviation equipment to Georgian armed forces
18 December 2022 15:31
The Turkish government has donated special equipment for the airfield and spare parts for military helicopters to the Georgian Defence Forces, TASS reports, citing the Turkish Ministry of Defence on December 18.
"The Turkish side's aviation and air defence command donated two units of special equipment for the airfield and spare parts of UH-1H helicopters," the report says.
The handover ceremony took place at the air base in Marneuli near Tbilisi. The corresponding memorandum was signed by the Commander of the Georgian Air Defence Forces, Sergo Ninua, and Turkish military attaché Burak Altiner.
An earlier signed agreement on military-financial cooperation between the two states was the basis for the donation.
