UAE reports interception of ballistic, cruise missiles, UAVs in latest attack
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said on April 3, 2026, that its air defence systems intercepted 18 ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 47 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran.
In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the latest interceptions add to a broader pattern of attacks, bringing the total number of threats engaged since the escalation began to 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles and 2,085 UAVs.
"The attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 2 members of the armed forces while performing their national duty, in addition to the martyrdom of a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces, as well as 9 fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities," the ministry said.
The ministry said 203 people were injured, with conditions ranging from minor to severe. Those affected include both Emirati citizens and foreign nationals from across Asia, Africa and Europe.
The ministry reaffirmed that the UAE remains fully prepared to address any threats, adding that its forces will continue to act decisively to safeguard national sovereignty, security and stability.
