UK House of Lords honours Heydar Aliyev's memory PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev, who is on a visit to London, has met Baroness Emma Nicholson, the British Prime Minister's trade representative for Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, the parties noted that the meeting in the House of Lords has a symbolic meaning, as it coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries in the education sphere.
Views were exchanged on prospects of cooperation in general and higher education fields.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Great Britain Elin Suleymanov attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) reported that it had launched the sale of investment banknotes made of the highest Azerbaijani gold on the occasion of Heydar Aliyev's 100th birthday anniversary on May 10 for the first time in the country’s history.
In accordance with international practice, these banknotes are made of top-quality gold for the purpose of long-term investment and savings. The banknotes are produced and issued on a demand-driven basis with no issue limits. Investment-grade coins weighing 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams), 1/2 troy ounce (15.55 grams), 1/4 troy ounce (7.78 grams), 1/10 troy ounce (3.11 grams). Commemorative and investment banknotes are legal tender in the country.
The currency value of 1 troy ounce is 100 manat, 1/2 troy ounce is 50 manat, 1/4 troy ounce is 20 manat, 1/10 troy ounce is 10 manat.
The jubilee and investment coins were produced in accordance with the highest international standards at The Royal Mint of Great Britain. The profile of the great leader, his signature and the inscription "Heydar Aliyev" are placed on the obverse and the words "Republic of Azerbaijan", the image of the National Emblem, the face value of the banknote and national ornaments are placed on the reverse.
The sale and redemption of investment banknotes issued for the first time in the country is carried out by the CBA.
The sale of banknotes is carried out through the CBA's online sales system (https://coin.e-cbar.az/), at CBA cash desks and through banks.
