UK intelligence: Russia faces shortage of drones
British intelligence stated that Russia has problems due to a shortage of drones due to sanctions and their shooting down by Ukrainian forces.
This is stated in the daily review from British intelligence, which is published by the British Ministry of Defence, according to Caliber. Az
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) played a key role for both sides in the Russian-Ukrainian war, although they suffered high losses, the summary notes. The UAVs proved to be vulnerable to both downing and electronic interference.
Russia tried to implement the concept of an intelligence strike in Ukraine. The concept, which was finalized by Russia in Syria. According to the concept, reconnaissance UAVs are used to identify targets that should be hit by combat aircraft or artillery.
However, British intelligence states that Russia probably lacks the appropriate reconnaissance UAVs to perform this task, which is compounded by restrictions on its domestic production capacity as a result of sanctions.
"For the most part, Russian crewed aircraft continue to avoid flying over Ukrainian territory, probably due to the threat from unharmed Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems. If Russia continues to lose drones at the current rate, the intelligence and surveillance capabilities of the Russian forces will further deteriorate," the message says.
Since the beginning of the war, Western intelligence has repeatedly confirmed that Russia has failed to gain an advantage in the Ukrainian sky.
