Ukraine destroys $1.2 billion Triumf air defence system in Crimea
The Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy conducted a special operation near Yevpatoriya on the night of September 14.
A Russian C300/400 Triumf air defence system was destroyed during the operation. Its value is $1.2 billion, RBC-Ukraine reports.
First, the Security Service used drones to hit the "eyes" of the complex - radars and antennas - and then the Navy came into force. They used two Neptune cruise missiles to strike the missile installations.
Thus, as the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk emphasised earlier, "the bavovna has been blazing and will continue to blaze".
Sources in the Security Service also say that new "surprises" await Russians in Crimea.
The S-400 Triumf is a Russian long- and medium-range, next-generation anti-aircraft missile system (SAM).
This complex is designed to defeat reconnaissance aircraft, strategic and tactical aircraft, tactical, operational-tactical ballistic missiles, medium-range ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets, jammers, radar surveillance and guidance aircraft and others.
Note that the Russians use these systems not only as air defence but also for shelling, and since the S-400s are not designed for ground strikes, they are extremely inaccurate and destructive.
