Russia’s Kinzhal missile and drone offensive hits Ukraine across 13 locations
In the early hours of November 15, Russia launched a new combined assault on Ukraine, employing hypersonic Kinzhal missiles alongside more than a hundred strike drones.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, quoted by Ukrainian media, the Russian military fired three Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” missiles from the airspace over Russia’s Tambov region.
In addition, 135 attack drones—including Shahed, Gerbera, and other variants—were launched from both Russian territory and temporarily occupied Crimea. Approximately 80 of these were Shahed drones.
The attacks originated from multiple directions, including Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Bryansk, as well as the Chauda and Hvardiyske areas of occupied Crimea.
By 09:00 local time, Ukraine’s air defence forces had successfully intercepted or neutralised two Kinzhal missiles and 91 drones across the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Despite the overall effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defence, one missile and 41 strike drones reached their targets, impacting 13 locations nationwide.
Debris from downed missiles and drones fell in four additional areas. Details regarding casualties and material damage are still being verified.
