Ukraine launches comprehensive audit of state-owned companies amid corruption scandal
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has announced a nationwide audit of all state-owned companies, aiming to tackle persistent corruption concerns affecting key sectors of the economy.
Svyrydenko emphasized the scope of the initiative, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
“We are preparing a comprehensive solution for all state-owned companies, particularly in the energy sector. We are conducting an audit and have instructed supervisory boards to review operational performance, especially regarding procurement,” she said.
The government’s move comes in the wake of an ongoing corruption scandal linked to Timur Mindich, an associate of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Officials have indicated that the audit will not only examine financial and operational compliance but also strengthen oversight mechanisms across Ukraine’s strategic industries.
