Ukraine says it hit Russian MiG-29 at Kursk airfield VIDEO

Ukraine's Armed Forces have struck a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet and a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system at Khalino airfield in Russia's Kursk region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces have stated.

It said the operation was carried out by troops from the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade, known as "Black Forest," Caliber.Az reports.

Earlier, Russia and Ukraine reported a fresh wave of overnight drone attacks, with both sides claiming to have intercepted dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles while reporting strikes on infrastructure.

Russia's Defence Ministry said its air defence systems destroyed 209 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight across multiple regions.

Ukraine, meanwhile, reported that Russia launched 58 drones overnight, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and Banderol strike UAVs, as well as Parodiya decoy drones.

According to preliminary information, Ukrainian air defences destroyed or electronically suppressed 46 of the drones over the country's northern, southern and eastern regions.
