Ukraine to launch fresh long-range attacks on Russian targets — Zelenskyy
Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing to launch new long-range strikes against priority targets inside the Russian Federation in the near future, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced.
Zelenskyy said that the decision followed consultations with the leadership of Ukraine’s security and intelligence agencies, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
“Together with the heads of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, we have identified priority targets for our long-range operations in the coming period. We will certainly implement them,” the president stated.
Ukraine has been increasingly deploying long-range drones and missiles to target strategically important facilities within Russia as part of its broader defence and deterrence strategy.
During the night of October 31, multiple explosions were reported across several Russian regions as Ukrainian drones struck energy infrastructure in three locations simultaneously. In Oryol, a strike on a combined heat and power plant left parts of the city without electricity.
A fire also broke out at the Vladimirskaya substation following a drone attack. The 750 kV facility is one of the principal high-voltage substations in the power ring encircling Moscow, transmitting electricity from nuclear and thermal power plants toward the Russian capital.
Meanwhile, residents of Yaroslavl reported overnight explosions near the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery. The city’s airport was temporarily closed amid the attacks.
